Terms of service
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of the Jublu mobile application. By using Jublu, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Please also read our privacy policy, which explains how we handle your data.
2. What Jublu does
Jublu is a digital wellness app for Android that helps you reduce phone usage through conversational app blocking. Features include app blocking, notification management, usage insights, website blocking, scheduling, and Quick Disable (a temporary bypass for genuine needs, available in 5, 10, or 15 minute intervals, PIN-protected, limited to once per day, with blocking automatically resuming when the timer expires).
Jublu works primarily on your device. Core blocking does not require an internet connection or a user account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Jublu (with parental consent if under 18).
Jublu is a productivity tool, not a medical device or therapeutic tool.
3. Accounts
Creating an account is optional. Core app blocking works without one. If you choose to create an account (via email/password or Google Sign-In), you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
You can delete your account at any time via Profile > Delete account. This permanently removes your authentication data and clears all local data. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription.
4. Subscriptions and billing
You can cancel anytime via Google Play. You keep Plus features until the end of your billing period.
Jublu offers a free tier and a paid subscription (Jublu Plus). The free tier includes app blocking with up to 2 groups and 3 blocked websites. Jublu Plus unlocks unlimited groups, unlimited website blocking, and advanced insights.
Pricing and payment
Jublu Plus is available as a monthly or yearly subscription. Prices are displayed in the app and on our Google Play listing. All payments are processed by Google Play. We never see or store your payment details.
Auto-renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You will be charged the then-current price at each renewal.
How to cancel
Cancel at any time via Google Play Store > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Jublu > Cancel subscription. You can also visit play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
After cancellation, you keep Plus features until the end of your current billing period, then revert to the free tier. If you have more than 2 blocking groups or 3 blocked websites when you downgrade, your existing groups and websites are preserved but you will need to remove extras before creating new ones.
Uninstalling Jublu does not cancel your subscription. You must cancel through Google Play.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by Google Play. To request a refund, visit your Google Play order history. Your statutory rights under UK consumer law are not affected.
Price changes
If we change pricing, Google Play will notify you in advance (typically 30 days). Price changes apply at your next renewal. You can cancel before that if you do not agree.
5. Acceptable use
Jublu is designed for managing your own app usage on your own device. You may not:
- Install Jublu on someone else's device without their consent
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or redistribute the app
- Use automated tools or scripts to interact with the app
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
You are responsible for ensuring emergency apps remain accessible, maintaining the permissions required for Jublu to function (accessibility service, usage stats), and cancelling your subscription if you no longer wish to be charged. If you revoke a critical permission, blocking features may stop working.
Some device manufacturers apply aggressive battery optimisation that may interfere with Jublu's accessibility service or background blocking. You may need to adjust your device's battery settings to ensure reliable operation. We are not responsible for blocking failures caused by device-level restrictions.
6. Third-party services
Jublu uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Firebase (Google LLC): Authentication, analytics, crash reporting, and feature configuration
- PostHog (PostHog, Inc.): Product analytics, hosted in the EU
- RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.): Subscription management
- Google Play Billing (Google LLC): Payment processing
Each service operates under its own terms and privacy policy. See our privacy policy for details on what data each service receives.
7. Intellectual property
All content, design, and code in Jublu are owned by Soules Studio Ltd. You are granted a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on your Android device. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works without our written consent.
8. Limitation of liability
We do our best to make Jublu reliable, but we cannot guarantee it will work perfectly in every situation.
Jublu is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or that all apps will be blocked in every scenario.
For free users: Our maximum liability is GBP 0 (zero).
For paid subscribers: Our maximum liability shall not exceed the subscription fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
9. Your consumer rights
If you are a UK consumer, you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that cannot be excluded by these terms. Digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If it is not, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund.
You have a 14-day cooling-off period for online purchases. By subscribing and immediately accessing Plus features, you consent to the content being provided before the cooling-off period ends, which means you lose your right to cancel once you access the content (except where it is faulty).
10. General
Changes to the service
We may update or modify Jublu at any time. For significant changes (especially to subscription features or pricing), we will provide reasonable notice.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you through an in-app notification at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
Termination
You can stop using Jublu at any time by uninstalling the app (and cancelling your subscription through Google Play). We may suspend your access if you breach these terms or if required by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in this section affects your right to bring proceedings where you live.
